Refund
Policy.
§1 The 7-day unconditional window
You may request a full refund for any reason within 7 days of your order — as long as you have not opened the report. We never ask why.
Opening the report ends this no-reason window. The report counts as "opened" the moment you unlock any of chapters 2–13. Viewing the free chapter 1 or your card reveal does not count as opening it. After you open the report, only the exceptions in §3 apply — a NYXA bug, a failed delivery, or an outage.
Because our third-party payment processor is the Merchant of Record for all NYXA purchases, all refund requests are reviewed by NYXA and then processed through that processor back to your original payment method.
This 7-day window is calibrated to meet:
- Korea 전자상거래법 제17조 · 제17조 제2항 — a 7-day cooling-off for distance sales, with cancellation limited once a digital product is used immediately with the buyer's prior agreement. Our window is more generous than the statute requires.
- EU / UK Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU — the 14-day right to cancel a digital purchase is waived when you agree at checkout to immediate access and accept that you lose that right (Art. 16(m)). NYXA records this acknowledgment in the order record. We still give you 7 days, no reason needed, until you open the report.
- U.S. state minimums — most states mandate no refund window for digital goods. We provide one by choice.
§2 What "opened" means
Whether the report is opened decides which rule applies — inside or outside the 7-day window. "Opened" is a mechanical, server-side flag set on your first authenticated access to chapters 2–13, recorded as opened_at on your order.
If you only viewed the free chapter 1 or your card reveal, the report counts as not opened — your 7-day no-reason refund still stands.
Once the report is opened, we do not refund a report that has been accessed and read, except under the §3 exceptions.
§3 Exceptions
We will refund regardless of the windows above if:
- The report failed to deliver due to a NYXA bug (e.g., 9.5MB bundle never loaded, paywall stuck, magic link broken) and we cannot resolve it within 7 days of your report.
- The report was generated for a day-pillar that does not match your true birth data because of a NYXA calculation bug, and you prefer a refund over a corrected report.
- The Service was unavailable (>24h continuous outage) within 7 days of your purchase.
We will not refund:
- Because you "didn't agree with" or "didn't like" the report after fully reading it past the 7-day window.
- Because of a card-issuer FX conversion fee.
- Because you used the wrong birth time or place — re-purchase a new report at the correct values.
§4 How to request a refund
- Email
support@trynyxa.comfrom the email address used at checkout. Include the order id (in your receipt) and a one-line reason (or "no reason — within 7-day window"). - NYXA reviews within 3 business days. Either approves (the default within 7 days) or replies with a clarification.
- Our payment processor executes the refund mechanically when NYXA approves it via the processor's dashboard. The processor issues the refund to your original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.
- The processor's refund webhook fires back to NYXA. The webhook handler updates the entitlement record's status to
refunded. On your next access attempt, the paywall returns rather than the report. - Confirmation email from NYXA with the order id, refund amount, and entitlement status.
Refund requests are processed through our payment processor; please allow 5-10 business days for the refund to appear on your card statement after we confirm it.
§5 Data treatment after refund
- The entitlement record transitions to status
refunded. Your access to the report is revoked. - The transaction record (in
transactions.csv) is preserved with the refund amount and timestamp — required by U.S. IRS 7-year retention and by our payment processor's books. The email in this record is hashed (sha256(email + IDENTITY_SALT)). - The consent record (
consent:{email_hash}) is not deleted by the refund alone — it represents the consent you gave at the time and is needed for audit. You may separately request deletion via Privacy Policy §8.
§6 Chargebacks
If you dispute a NYXA charge with your card issuer (chargeback) without first contacting us, our payment processor will defend the dispute on NYXA's behalf using the order record, the consent record, and the access log. We may also pause your entitlement during the dispute.
We always prefer that you write to support@trynyxa.com first — it is faster, more reliable, and avoids the dispute fee our payment processor charges for losing chargebacks.
Card-issuer chargebacks are routed to our payment processor as the Merchant of Record. If you initiate a chargeback before contacting us, NYXA may still email you to clarify the purchase, but the financial dispute is handled by your card issuer and our payment processor.
§7 Statutory rights preserved
Nothing in this Refund Policy limits or waives consumer rights that cannot be limited or waived under applicable law, including but not limited to:
- Korean 전자상거래법 제17조 (청약철회) — preserved as a mandatory right; where a buyer has not separately agreed to immediate-use limitation, the statutory 7-day withdrawal applies and our policy never falls short of it.
- EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU (where applicable notwithstanding the digital-content waiver in §1).
- California Civil Code §1668 and Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act.
Where this Policy is more generous than the law (e.g., the 7-day window in jurisdictions that mandate none), the more-generous NYXA policy applies.
§8 Changes to this policy
Material changes bump the policy_version. Each version takes effect on the effective date shown at the top of this page and applies to orders placed on or after that date. Where we have customers to notify of a material change, we email them in advance.
This v2 narrows the refund scope once a report is opened and takes effect immediately on its effective date. Orders placed under v1 keep the v1 policy, including the prior terms that allowed a refund after opening within 7 days.
